History on a human scale
23 August 2026 – 3.00 pm
On 26 and 27 September 2026, the Ligny 1815 Museum will host the first edition of ‘Maîtres du Fer et du Feu’, a festival dedicated to the traditional crafts of blacksmithing and metallurgy.
The programme includes demonstrations, introductory sessions to blacksmithing, bronze and iron casting, educational workshops for families and historical re-enactments.
On Saturday evening, a special torchlit event will bring together the blacksmiths present on site, featuring musical entertainment and the first castings of a miniature cannon inspired by the one at Ligny, which is set to become an iconic souvenir of the museum.
